Safe travel should South Africa?

"Quick you guys, can not here, there was a rape and murder last week and have to go immediately". These are not the words that expect you to pull up on a tranquil beach for a surf, but in South Africa, that your security is something never to be taken for granted as it often Australia to hear.
The question of whether all country, region, city or town is safe, is difficult. Just bad luck not sure can be anywhere when you have dodgy situations away to stay not common sense, or are. Although concerns in southern Africa, as elsewhere, can your best intentions and common sense still be no match for random and often serious crime.
Ask many South Africans, while you are in the country on safety and will put on a brave face. This mask may be more a reflection of the realities that either can not leave, or simply more on used are, as she would like to admit. Many are also their best to make your stay in South Africa's future remain optimistic place, instead of moving in Perth or Sydney. Ask the same question about the security one are met by the thousands of South African expatriates in Australia and probably with silence or simple say that they are never again going.
Although crime statistics over the last decade (but rises in 2009) improved have, South Africa still retains one of the world's highest crime rates. It is not just the amount of crime, which is the concern, but the share is this crime, the violent in nature. In a recent address, Parliament declared that South African President Jacob Zuma South Africa has a bigger problem with violent crimes than any other country in the world (and this is a declaration, which is host to South Africa of the World Cup in the year). South Africans all creeds and colours deal with the threat of crime on a daily basis and real change can not quickly come enough.
From purely personal experience in South Africa travel was one of the best experiences I had. But to say that I felt me is sure to Polish, about the fact what you be careful and always aware what's going on. And we had a few close shave.
The Australian Government website smart traveller says "close look for your personal safety at all times and monitor the media information about the new safety or security risks." This is true, but local knowledge, almost on certain roads or some value is street corners.
At an afternoon only a few hundred metres search me and my girlfriend in a car park Beach in Cape Town for surf down by a relatively popular pulled. We had was in a rented car for a few months to travel, so that our path to Botswana, Namibia and South Africa and at this time had experienced two raids (a violent and a very quick snatch and run).
We had screeched in the parking lot for on the beach beach literally just a few moments ago a car from the highway and the driver, almost in a panic, warned us unequivocally that we were not sure, and that we should exit immediately. We were already cautious and our security aware, but we were not to know that a particularly infamous Township, only a stone's throw from the lay perfect surf, which had attracted our attention.
On a guided tour, how many Aussies on the World Cup, his will, is always a more secure option as you have local knowledge and security benefits of the constant in greater numbers. While in a group security is not guaranteed it certainly will take away some of the concern.
But South Africa you decide to travel, is an amazing place and an assault on the senses. Combine the best and worst of people and place to leave with a memorable experience. Remember, try and enjoy the place if you are constantly over your security and never the simple things like parking your car for granted.
