IsiXhosa Imvomvo is the name for the Aloe flower, some the flame of the colored flowering her message of opposition to the drought which daily sends descends if we our way through a dry winter winds, to others it means hope and dreams. Led by the tireless Thoko Mlonyeni, the Imvomvo-team worked tirelessly towards their goals. Imvomvo is a section 21 company, an NGO funded mainly by the Australian Government, specialising in the provision of training and all services relevant to the development of body movement and sport in communities and schools and the Aloe flower that their commitment to the support of all branches of the local community.
The shortcomings of the existing school sports facilities and the need for committed aid to have identified, Imvomo offers training, facilitates tournaments and members of the community including parents, teachers and the elderly in the immediate community to a trainers mentors. At the same time help and assistance to children of all levels, building skills and building dreams. Imvomvu has a symbiotic collaboration with the local community and sport clubs where they often share facilities, together play an important role in the youth development projects by running junior rugby and netball tournaments in Mdantsane formed. Attempts have been undertaken to relaunch this sports among the youth in the area and to encourage youth involvement in sports to improve their daily circumstances. But as with any meaningful project of this nature, there is simply no end to the assistance that is required. Applications are currently being investigated by the Department of Sport and leisure opportunities in Bisho. Thoko and her team would definitely appreciate further support of committed local business ads, the needs of the poorer part of our community are so big, South Africans are passionate about both sports as a community development, this is an opportunity to constructively involved in the improvement of the community.
