AIDS Is really a concern when they travel to Africa?

Travel to Africa for most means Safari, the opportunity to participate in the early morning and game stations, late in the evening to marvel at Cape Buffalo, lion and giraffe. But to first commit a trip to Africa you have to horde on your concern, often dealing with disease.
Southern Africa has the highest number of people living with the disease HIV/AIDS ' positive '. Approximately 20-25% of Namibians, South Africa, and people of Botswana are reportedly living "positive". That means one in every four to five people have HIV/AIDS. What does this mean for you as the traveler?
Prepare yourself for your ' once-in-a-lifetime ' Safari.
1. educate yourself about the disease, how it is contracted (more than 80% of the new contractions are caused by heterosexual, unprotected sexual intercourse and lactation from mother to child in Africa), but more importantly what to do if you are exposed to blood.
2. stay vigilant, not afraid. It is important not to add to the stigma and discrimination that is crippling the people already, but confidence in your knowledge.
3. Practice responsible travel techniques-not sleep with every man/woman who meet you!
This knowledge is integrated into your experience. Dive into the intimacy of the adventure and learn from the people while being constantly amazed by the beauty of southern Africa. It is always better to be prepared for the unlikely possibility you face to face with the disease will, than too uncertain at the moment seems. When your Safari is all said and done, you'll think to yourself, "where the people lived with AIDS?"
